BOOK REVIEW: CHASING LOVE
*SPOILER ALERT*
Chasing Love is a story about a forty-six year old woman, Tilda, who is coping up from discovering the infidelity of her husband right at Mother’s day where she should be being appreciated. A divorce followed suit and she was left alone to take care of her three children and nurse her heart back to life, never mind the hefty financial support her ex-husband is providing. I enjoyed this book and became a bit sentimental especially Ju Ephraim didn’t fail to show the struggles in a single mom’s journey into juggling love life and maintaining her family…caring for her kids. She had the support of her family as she mended her broken heart and moved on. What’s more is that this story has online dating concept where she met David. I am very attached to online dating because I too found a wonderful man through there, it’s an unlikely place to find love but who know’s what’s in store for you, right? Tilda might have found hers in there and maybe her chase for love would end with David? Aside from Tilda, my other favorite character would be her eldest son, Alex. I found this deep connection with him because in some ways we are definitely alike. I could see myself from him and felt a bit good about myself because Alex is a strong kid who has a big heart and lots of love to give not only to his mom and siblings but to the man who could make his mother happy once again, or maybe in the first time. She wasn’t really happy with her ex husband because Tilda knew at the back of her mind that the divorce was bound to happen. It has its emotional and sweet moments but I shall commend Ju Ephraim for writing the steamy scenes as well, what’s a good book without a pint of something sexy, right? I wish Ju Ephraim had expanded the book more though, put more pages into it depicting more moments with Tilda and her kids and how they coped with losing a father figure. The author somewhat focused into Tilda and David’s chase for love that I felt like if she had also delved with the kids this book would be a ton more appealing. I want me some book about a strong family. Overall, I very much enjoyed this book and devoured it in one sitting…roughly took me four hours of reading time. It’s that awesome. Thus, I am giving this 4 stars rating! Read this review in Goodreads! Buy this book in Amazon! Never miss anything from Ju Ephraime! Read more of my reviews!
